Low Back Pain
The vertebrae of the low back (Lumbar vertebrae) become chronically misaligned very easily in everyday situations because of two mechanical circumstances. Being at the bottom of the spinal column means that the weight of the vertebrae above is pressing down and causing compression on the lumbar area. The lumbar vertebrae are also a pivot point for the bending and twisting we do each day. These two physical forces cause low back vertebrae to become chronically subluxated (misaligned).
A person who only gets a little stiffness in the low back upon rising in the morning often thinks that it is no big deal - just something he needs to live with. Unfortunately, what it could really indicate is a progressive degeneration of the vertebrae and disc. If the vertebrae is subluxated, there will be a progressive reduction of nerve flow to the vital areas of the body. This person is slowly developing a chronic degenerative subluxation that is compromising the spine itself, the nerve flow, and his or her overall health.
Anyone experiencing pain or stiffness in the lower back should be checked for low back spinal misalignment (subluxation). It is wise to remember all chronic degenerative conditions start slowly, often without pain or other typical symptoms, and then build over the years into a hidden monster.
